About this build

This Ford Bronco came through our Los Angeles studio as a utility platform build — truck and SUV bodies see harsher use than a sport sedan, so the priority is durable coverage at the impact zones. Satin is the in-between choice — deeper than matte, calmer than gloss, and the most forgiving on day-to-day swirl marks. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

This off-road SUV received a satin black wrap finished with a ceramic armor layer to improve durability and make the surface easier to maintain. Satin black works well on a body like this because it keeps the form clear without the glare of gloss. In Southern California, where harsh light can expose weak installation fast, texture consistency matters as much as color. The ceramic top layer helps reduce staining and simplifies regular cleaning after daily use or trail duty. The final result looks most cohesive across the removable door sections and the flat rear quarter panels.

Why these finishes were combined

Ford builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: the wrap delivers the colour and finish, the coating helps the vinyl shed dust and dead bugs between washes.
